Building Windows Machines in Amazon EC2
In this article I'm going to give you a simple, step-by-step overview of how to create a Windows 2008 server image in Amazon's Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) infrastructure. Well maybe you are buying into the whole cloud computing story which lets you cheaply out-source your computer hardware for amazingly cheap prices (staring around $0.20 / hour for a dedicated machine). I'm putting Visual Studio 2010 Beta on mine to play around with that software without 'polluting' my real system. Enable Elastic Compute Cloud for your AWS account at [link].

The Loathsome Ritual of Predictions for 2009
Windows 7 beta releases will show tremendous promise and will begin to restore faith in Microsoft’s ability to ship a great desktop OS experience. Microsoft will demonstrate serious support for low power netbooks in Windows 7 betas. Cloud computing will be on everyone’s mind and the industry will begin to more fully address issues such as identity management / federation, multi-factor authentication, system integration, and data location guarantees when using resources in the cloud. Processors will get faster and gain more cores!
