I just finished watch Adam Savage presenting at maker faire. It’s a pretty great talk. Kinda. Here’s what I’m taking away: “Set deadlines for personal projects” But about 22 minutes in I become pretty dissatisfied, and I want to talk about why: I am agreeing with Adam about everything. Everything? Yep, It ALL makes sense. know it ALL already. Now do I believe that if I was to sit down and actually do something with Adam that everything would be great? No disagreement? Nothing to learn? Of course not. That’s a stupid idea. DevelopMentor Courses - Friday, April 22, 2011 |

| The Latest from DevelopMentor | MORE | | SSD + SATA = Best of Both Worlds Besides, a lot of space is for things like videos and audio that don’t need the blinding speed of SSD, which I wanted to reserve for the stuff I use all the time, like the main OS, programs, documents, and my Windows VM. However, the instructions that came with it did not cover my model (early 2011) and were too high level for me to feel confident about. kept my applications, Windows VM and most of my documents on the SSD to take advantage of faster access speed, but placed the other stuff on the SATA, as well as space-hogging video files. | The Best from DevelopMentor | MORE | - HTML5 Video
Video has always been a difficult thing on the web. After all you just add a video element, set the source and you are good to go right? If you create a page like this: HTML5 Video demo. video. {. < video poster ="[link]. autoplay > HTML5 Video element not supported. However when I open the page in Internet Exporer 9 or FireFox we get this: The video element loads the movie poster but it doesn’t start playing. And that even though according to CanIUse.com the video element is supported on the current version of Safari I am running. The Problem Solver - Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - Access Control Service: Walkthrough Videos of Web Application, SOAP, REST and Silverlight Integration
Instead of writing it all down, I decided to quickly record four short videos that cover the relevant features and code. This video does a quick walkthrough of the solution and shows the web application part. This video shows how to wire up the service to ACS and hows how to create a client that first requests a token from an IdP and then sends this token to ACS. Over the weekend I worked a little more on my ACS2 sample. Have fun ;). Part 1 – Overview. This includes driving the sign in UI via JavaScript (thanks Matias) as well as the registration logic I wrote about here. www.leastprivilege.com - Tuesday, May 24, 2011 - Agile 2012 Development Practices & Craftsmanship stage

If you haven’t heard of it, I did a video walk-through here: Boot to VHD Screencast: [link]. Let’s talk about cloud operating systems. This article explores the options and potential of moving entirely “To The Cloud” for developers who normally demand significant offline power from their applications (IDEs, compilers, debuggers, etc). We’ll focus on.NET / Visual Studio developers, but I’m sure you can adapt this to your technology of choice. ve been fascinated with what Google is doing with Chrome OS. think finding a way to fully “live in the cloud” has a lot of promise.
